The RFL is delighted to announce that it will be rolling out a number of FA Emergency First Aid courses in conjunction with the FA.  The course is designed specifically to meet the needs of first aiders who are responsible for participants in sport which is ideal for volunteers in community clubs.

We are now taking bookings for the following courses:

Wednesday 29th January 2014 at Hindley ARLFC, Hindley, Wigan

All courses run from 6.30pm – 9.30pm

The course costs £15 per participant and payment must be made within five working days of the provisional booking being confirmed by the RFL.

The Course Objectives are to: Preserve Life , Limit Effects & Promote Recovery


This 3 hour course will cover:

  • Approach to an incident
  • Assessment of priorities (ABC)
  • Checking responsiveness
  • Opening the airway
  • Checking breathing
  • Checking the pulse
  • Recovery position
  • Breathing for the casualty
  • Chest compressions
  • Combined heart-lung resuscitation
  • Control of bleeding
  • Dressing of wounds
  • Minimising shock
  • Choking
  • Heart attacks


Assessment & Certification

On successful completion of this course the candidate will receive a certificate issued by the FA (Football Association) which is valid for 3 years.
